For over a century, Le Cordon Bleu has helped shape the careers of some of the best chefs and food enthusiasts around the world, developing the London wine school in 2014. Regularly offering scholarship competitions each year, 2022 marks the first year offering a wine specific scholarship competition which follows the success of the Julia Child Scholarship. The Wine Scholarship by Le Cordon Bleu provides a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone who has a passion for wine and aspires for a career in the wine industry.
Le Cordon Bleu London is searching for some of the country’s most passionate wine enthusiasts – regardless of age, location or background – giving them the chance to finally follow their dreams and aspirations, learning from Le Cordon Bleu London's Wine Development Manager and Master Sommelier, Matthieu Longuere, as well as other leading names in the industry.

The Prize

The Wine Scholarship by Le Cordon Bleu is about offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to the most passionate wine enthusiast living in the United Kingdom.
The 2022 winner will be awarded a place on our highly respected Diploma in Wine, Gastronomy and Management, with exclusively curated internship placements at Michelin-starred restaurant HIDE and renowned wine merchants Hedonism, following the completion. Combined, the 9 month programme comprises the 6-month diploma and a 3-month internship, split across more than one discipline.
In addition to the diploma and internship, the winner will get a mixed case of Burgundy wines from the Côte d’Or courtesy of Maison Louis Latour, a mentoring session from Steve Smith MW of Smith & Sheth and a mixed case of Pyramid Valley and Smith & Sheth wines, a mixed case of wines from the Colchagua Valley courtesy of Viu Mament, a mixed case of wines from Montalcino courtesy of Banfi, and Gusbourne will provide a space in the Gusbourne Academy programme for the winner and membership subscription to the winner and runners up.
