Le Cordon Bleu Ateneo (LCBA) recently welcomed Mr André J Cointreau, President & CEO of Le Cordon Bleu International, and Mr Charles Cointreau, Vice President for Asia Pacific, during their visit to Manila. Over two days, they met with top Ateneo and LCBA officials to discuss business development plans.
Their official visit began at Ateneo Rockwell Campus followed by a luncheon meeting with LCBA Institute Director Ms Liza Hernandez-Morales and Ateneo’s Center for Continuing Education Head of Program Sales & Marketing Ms. Eveth Ella-Balce. Later, they met with Ateneo de Manila University President Fr Roberto C Yap SJ, VP for Higher Education Dr Maria Luz Vilches, and John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) Dean Dr Roberto Galang before heading to Le Cordon Bleu Ateneo (LCBA) in Areté to tour and inspect the facilities and engage with the team.
Mr Andre Cointreau and Mr Charles Cointreau are renowned for being hands-on, thorough and meticulous in keeping high standards in all their institutes.
During their visit, they inspected all the areas of the institute and talked to everyone, including students and stewards.
For dinner, they proceeded to Kása Palma in Makati, where they were honored by its chef, Aaron Isip. Chef Aaron – a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Paris and who has been getting numerous positive reviews for his creative dishes – personally presented all the dishes in the remarkable 10-courses tasting menu.
On the second day, Mr André J and Mr Charles Cointreau returned to LCB Ateneo for a luncheon meeting with Ateneo’s Graduate School of Business Dean Dr Jet Magsaysay, BS Restaurant Entrepreneurship (BS REnt) Program Director Chef Annalisa Margarita Mariano, Ms Eveth Ella-Balce, and Ms Liza Morales. LCBA’s Technical Director Chef Cyrille Soenen and Pastry Chef Julien Bispo prepared an ode to Filipino cuisine through a three-course meal, which was well received by Mr André J and Mr Charles Cointreau as well as the Ateneo officials.
As Le Cordon Bleu celebrates its 130th anniversary this year, we are grateful for the leadership of Mr André J Cointreau and Mr Charles Cointreau in upholding and practicing excellence in culinary and hospitality education.
