SPCA Cupcake Bake Off Fundraiser
Baking a difference for the animals!
Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand recently participated in the SPCA Cupcake Day to raise money for animals in need. Our second-year Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Business students were delighted to take part in this years SPCA cupcake fundraiser.
As the Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Business is an applied degree the students were required to demonstrate practical kitchen skills and interact with organisations in the community providing them with an opportunity to liaise with clients, raise funds and get involved in a great cause.
Each year, over 40,000 abused and neglected animals need love, care and shelter. Since 2009, supporters have helped SPCA raise over $3 million to help these animals, simply by selling cupcakes! This year Paws in the City Dog Daycare and Dog Groomers kindly volunteered to sell the students cupcakes at their two locations in the city and made a much-appreciated donation to the SPCA.
SPCA has been protecting New Zealand’s animals for over 140 years – dedicated to helping animals who are sick, injured, neglected, abused or simply abandoned. To learn more about the organisation and what you can do to help see the links below:
