The 40 semi-finalists have been chosen for the 2019 Julia Child Scholarship by Le Cordon Bleu, a prize worth over £45,000, which was in search for some of the UK’s most passionate aspiring chefs and food entrepreneurs. The successful applicants will be given the chance to compete for a place on the respected Diplôme de Pâtisserie, followed by the valuable Diploma in Culinary Management as well as additional exclusive prizes.

The semi-finals will take place on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th July 2019 at Le Cordon Bleu London, 15 Bloomsbury Square, London, WC1 A2LS.
The finals will take place on Monday 16th September 2019 at Le Cordon Bleu London, where winner will be given their award by the iconic Mary Berry, a Le Cordon Bleu alumna. The second and third-place runners-up will receive high-performance ZWILLING Diplôme knives.
The course of study will start in January 2020, and take a total 12 months to complete, including an internship at the historic Savoy Hotel. The winner will enjoy 12 months luxury London accommodation courtesy of Londonist for the duration of their study, alongside additional mentorship from some of Le Cordon Bleu London's most successful alumni, prizes from Churchill, 12-month membership with The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and tickets to The Business Show.
