Temple Food with Venerable Beop Song

London

Le Cordon Bleu London were recently joined by Korean Buddhist nun and chef, Venerable Beop Song, for a special culinary demonstration of Korean temple food, in partnership with the Korean Cultural Centre UK.

A renowned chef and cookbook author, Beop Song became a Buddhist nun under the tutelage of Venerable Seongkwan in 1996. She has refined her practice of temple cooking with the guidance of master monks and nuns who have a deep foundational knowledge of the cuisine.

During her two-day visit to Le Cordon Bleu London, Beop Song held an exclusive demonstration for students on the Diploma in Plant-Based Culinary Arts, in addition to spending time with students in practical classes.

The following day the institute hosted a public demonstration with Beop Song, where she discussed the mindful cooking and eating methods of temple food and prepared several delicious dishes typical of what would be eaten at this time of year in a South Korean temple.
