On November 9, celebrating the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic ties, a landmark ceremony was held at the Le Cordon Bleu Brand Exhibition Center in Shanghai. The event included the launch of the Le Cordon Bleu International Special Fund, established in partnership with the Shanghai Magnolia Foundation for International Exchange, and the signing of an investment intent for the Le Cordon Bleu Yangpu Riverside Campus.
Enhancing Global Exchange Through the Special Fund
The special fund agreement was signed by Mr. Zhaojian Bei, Executive Director of the Shanghai Magnolia Foundation for International Exchange, and Mr. Andrew Cointreau, CEO of Le Cordon Bleu, with prominent witnesses including Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office Director Mr. Fuan Kong , Yangpu District Secretary Mr. Kai Xue, and French Consul General Mr. Joan Valadou.
The fund will facilitate meaningful exchanges between Le Cordon Bleu and international organizations, fostering mutual understanding, enhancing professional standards, and building global influence in key sectors such as hospitality, gastronomy, and cultural tourism.
Le Cordon Bleu, with its 130-year legacy of French culinary excellence and a network of over 30 campuses across 20 countries, has long been a pioneer in promoting cultural and professional exchange.
This collaboration underscores a shared vision of advancing culinary education and industry growth, with a focus on training skilled professionals and fostering innovation in gastronomy and hospitality through international dialogue and cooperation.
Opening a New Chapter with Yangpu Riverside Campus
In a simultaneous highlight, the investment intent for the Yangpu Riverside Campus was signed by Mr. Cointreau, Mr. Yuanfa Guan, Chairman of the Shanghai Yangpu Riverside Investment Group, and Mr. Ke Guo, Chairman of the Yangpu Industrial Innovation Center. Key officials also attended to witness the momentous occasion.
The proposed 5,000-square-meter campus, to be built at Site 85 of Yangpu Riverside, represents a joint effort to combine local resources with Le Cordon Bleu’s global expertise. It aims to establish a world-class hub for vocational education, cultural exchange, and professional development in culinary arts.
This partnership underscores a long-term commitment to fostering regional economic growth, elevating culinary training, and advancing international collaboration. It marks a significant step forward for Yangpu District and Shanghai in cultivating world-class talent in gastronomy and hospitality.
The event concluded with a unified pledge to uphold excellence and innovation in culinary education, emphasizing its role as a milestone in global cooperation and the development of the culinary arts.
