Our New Restaurant

After months of planning and construction our campus is now better than ever, a new pâtisserie demonstration theatre and training restaurant are now fully operational. Students now study in a more cohesive campus environment, and guests now experience a pure Le Cordon Bleu service. We are excited to utilize these new spaces and are already making full use of them.

From concept to first service.

Our term 3 High Tea and Brasserie Dinner guests were the first to taste the difference in our new training restaurant. Fully run by our staff and students, it provides real world experience within a safe environment. Our former restaurant was located in a shared space, one that only allowed us a limited number of days per year to operate. With our new space we have full control, year-round service and year-round opportunities for our students to gain experience through hosted events.

Our first external event was for the local Beefsteak and Burgundy Club, we provided a two-course lunch designed by our chefs and prepared and served by our students. The club's wine master prepared matched wines for the custom menu, the details of the wines were only revealed at the end of service. It was an excellent opportunity for our students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, we hope to welcome the Beefsteak and Burgundy Club again in the future.

Excellent food and service prepared for the Beefsteak and Burgundy Club.

Our new space is for students first and foremost, past and present. After the success of our Auckland Alumni Gathering, we are preparing to welcome alumni that have remained close to campus this October. It will be a nostalgic experience for our past students to see all the changes our campus has gone through. Alongside our Wellington Alumni Gathering, we will be welcoming Cheryl Gunawan, alumna and winner of MasterChef Indonesia Season 9. Cheryl will be making full use of our new Pâtisserie demo kitchen as she engages with potential students and shares how her culinary education combines with her Indonesian heritage.

A rare opportunity to learn from a true MasterChef.

We will also be hosting our first graduation in the new restaurant this December, it’s an exciting time for staff and students to experience our new space together with friends and family. We look forward to growing familiar with our new facilities and providing excellent education and experiences to all who visit us. There is no other institute in the country that can offer the facilities that we at Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand now operate.
