Le Cordon Bleu hosts pop-up patisserie at Adelaide Central Market

Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide will take over the Adelaide Central Market’s community kitchen on Thursday, May 2, for its first ever pop-up patisserie stall.

The stall – open for one day only – will feature a range of high-end sweet treats, showcasing the artistry and expertise of Le Cordon Bleu’s budding pastry chefs.

“We are absolutely thrilled to showcase the talent and dedication of our students at the Adelaide Central Market,” Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide patisserie lecturer, Jenni Key, says.

“This event not only celebrates the art of patisserie, but provides our students with a rare opportunity to interact with the public and gain valuable industry experience.”

The pop-up stall is part of the Certificate IV in Patisserie students’ curriculum, whereby they are required to make a large quantity of goods, with consistency and perfection being key.

From intricate petit gateaux to princess almonds and chocolate bon-bons, there will be something to tantalise every palate – and at a fraction of the cost.

As a highlight of the event, market-goers will have the opportunity to witness the magic of truffle making come to life during a live culinary demonstration.

“Visitors to the market will be able to experience firsthand the precision and skill that goes into creating these luxurious confections and be able to purchase on the day, too,” Chef Jenni says.

Beyond offering a feast for the senses, the patisserie pop-up serves as a platform for the students to hone their customer service and sales skills in a real-world setting.

This hands-on experience is invaluable in their journey towards becoming accomplished culinary arts professionals.
