Last Tuesday, 18th of December, Estefano Zaquini and Vitor Bourguignon competed in the grand finale of MasterChef - The Rematch, which brought together 20 participants from six amateur seasons to compete with each other.
The finalists Vitor and Estefano had to create a complete menu (starter, main course and dessert) and juri: Erick Jacquin, Paola Carosella and Henrique Fogaça had the difficult task of choosing the winner.
The dishes had to reflect the history and the culinary preferences of each competitor using the obligatory ingredients: jiló, pine nut and cashew! For starters, Vitor served a smoked jiló, a tangerine emulsion, chicken liver and migas bread. The main course was chorizo steak with raw ham farofa, black garlic and yam purée with chimichurri sauce. To complete the menu, dark chocolate mousse, cashew jam, cashew nut crumble and cashew gelatin. Wow! Amazing!
The contest was very tight, as all the dishes presented had technique and an excellent flavor, but Vitor Bourguignon did have an advantage and was chosen as the winner of the competition! Congratulations!
Vitor has won the Le Cordon Bleu Rio de Janeiro Basic Cuisine Certificate as a prize! We are waiting for you, and once again congratulations for this unforgettable achievement!
