Beirut, April 6, 2017 - Le Cordon Bleu, the leading Global Network of Culinary arts and Hospitality Management Institutes, is happy to announce the location of its new institute in Lebanon. Opening soon to new students and foodies, providing a wide range of culinary training programmes from Le Grand Diplôme®, Cuisine, Pastry and Bakery Diplomas, while also dispensing culinary short courses and workshops, Le Cordon Bleu will locate in brand new hotel BURJ on BAY®, at Tabarja – Kfaryassine, North of Beirut. The official announcement was made during the HORECA exhibition, the annual event which brings together hospitality and restaurant industry professionals from the Middle East.
The new hotel BURJ on BAY®, which will open in April, has 129 Sea view rooms - from Standard, Deluxe to Executive rooms - and suites, 3 conference rooms and a large wedding venue for hire, a pool, a gym, a lobby, terraces, and 3 floor underground parking space for up to 200 cars. Le Cordon Bleu Liban is to open its doors in May, 2017. Occupying two full floors of the hotel, the new Beirut campus is fitted out with ultramodern equipment and the latest technology, providing students with the perfect environment in which to achieve excellence. The institute has 3 demonstration rooms, one of which has the capacity to seat 80 people and 3 practical classrooms for cuisine, pastry and bread-baking lessons. Future developments will see the opening of a Lebanese Cuisine Department within the establishment. Overlooking the sea, the training centre also has an aromatic herb garden, a library, a student area and a private student car park.
The standard of the training programmes on offer at Le Cordon Bleu Liban is identical to those available in the other Le Cordon Bleu institutes, giving students the opportunity to continue their training within the international network. Le Cordon Bleu Grand Diplôme® for instance, recognised for its excellence in the cuisine and hospitality sectors, is made of the Cuisine Diploma and the Pastry Diploma. The lessons are taught by award-winning Chefs, most of whom have worked internationally in the world’s most prestigious institutions, and are dedicated to passing-on their knowledge as permanent members of the Le Cordon Bleu pedagogical team.
Le Cordon Bleu has been present in Beirut since 2004. In partnership with Saint-Esprit de Kaslik (USEK) University, it has been teaching programmes in English with an international scope with a double diploma, Bachelor of Business Administration – Hotel Management (USEK) and Bachelor of Business in International Hotel and Tourism Management (Le Cordon Bleu), for the past 12 years.
At HORECA, Le Cordon Bleu participates at the salon Culinaire as part of the jury, with two Chefs from Le Cordon Bleu Paris institute Chef Eric Briffard, One of the Best Craftsmen in France (Meilleur Ouvrier de France - MOF 1994), Executive Chef and Culinary Arts Director, and Fabrice Danniel: Head of the Pastry Department and former Executive Chef of Le Cordon Bleu in Thailand. The winner of the Horeca 2017 competition will receive a training programme at the new Le Cordon Bleu Liban campus, which will open in May 2017. In addition, a special prize is also offered by BURJ on BAY®, with 2 nights stay for 2 at the hotel (including Breakfast and Dinner at the Signatures Restaurant).
