Hostelería de España held on the 7th of November the gala ceremony of the XVII edition of the National Hospitality Awards, in Madrid. In this edition, Rosario Barrios, general manager of Le Cordon Bleu Madrid received the award for “Labor formativa” (training work). A task that, for over a century, the Institute has provided the highest level of culinary education, and which continues to evolve by combining innovation and creativity with tradition, through training of international prestige. During the presentation, Rosario Barrios expressed her gratitude for this award and mentioned: "the strength that this recognition gives to the Institute to continue training professionals and contribute to making gastronomy bigger".
Le Cordon Bleu Madrid, Francisco de Vitoria University culinary institute, is the Spanish headquarter of an institution with more than 35 institutes in 20 countries, and 20.000 students a year from all over the worldT.
The National Hospitality Awards are the result of the participation of the territorial associations of Hospitality in Spain, which meet every year with hoteliers, entrepreneurs, chefs, journalists, and organizations, who are committed to promoting and improving the sector, building its future from excellence. These awards pay tribute, once again, to the work, commitment, and professionalism of 18 establishments, companies, institutions, and individuals who have excelled in key aspects such as innovation, sustainability, support for culture, commitment to people with disabilities, or social responsibility.
These awards are consolidated as one of the most reputable in the industry and have in this edition winners who accumulate between them a total of 4 Michelin stars and 9 Soles Repsol.
Among the award winners are, Maca de Castro as entrepreneur chef, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco from Grupo Paraguas for internationalization, Mª José San Román for her work to improve the sector, and Zalacaín restaurant special award for restaurant room service.
