In March 2012 it was officially announced to the world that Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School's book: Somtum: A Meeting of Tastes, Flavours & Cultures had won the Best Cook Book in the World (Asia category) at the International Gourmand Cook Book Awards held in Paris, France.
The Somtum Book examines the origins and history of Somtum – the evolution of different types of Somtum – the health benefits of Somtum - what is usually eaten with Somtum – what local and international wines and other beverages go best with Somtum - including "23 RECIPES" which are mostly classic French or fusion dishes which incorporate the tastes, flavours, and ingredients of Somtum in very creative ways. Included in the book are appetizers, desserts and breads, cakes and petits fours; fish and seafood, and meat & poultry recipes.
ALL REVENUE generated by sales of its international award winning book will be donated to Operation Smile Thailand.
