June 7, 2017: Le Cordon Bleu was delighted to be the gold sponsor of the French Reception on the final day of NAFSA 2017—the world's largest international education conference dedicated to bringing together leaders and changemakers in the education field across borders.

The reception was hosted at the French Consul General Mr. Christophe Lemoine's official residence in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on June 1, where Le Cordon Bleu Project Manager and Paris alumna, Kathy Shaw delivered the keynote address to the guests of the event. Her speech, in both English and French, highlighted the invaluable experience of studying in France and how Le Cordon Bleu attracts students of all nationalities to Paris since its beginnings over 120 years ago.

The guests were delighted to savor a variety of hors d'oeuvres preparead and curated by Le Cordon Bleu Paris alumni Chef Eric Greenspan, including brochettes de steak frites, mini croque monsieur, crostini ratatouille.

Chef Greenspan, Diplôme de Cuisine alumus from Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, has a long prestigious career having worked with many celebrated chefs; Alain Ducasse, David Bouley and Joachim Splichal, to name but a few. He was named one of Angeleno Magazine’s “Eight Hot Chefs”, and his kitchen garnered both a 27/30 rating and a “Top French Restaurant” from Zagat. He has competed on numerous culinary competitions including Food Network’s “Iron Chef America”, but now resides as Executive Chef and owner of The Roof on Wilshire.

When asked what he has learned besides studying at Le Cordon Bleu Paris during his study abroad experience, Chef Greenspan answered,

Joie de Vivre (Enjoyment of Life)

270 guests attended the event including the French delegation and Campus France's partner agencies. For many of the NAFSA attendees, this is the event that they look forward to every year. Also in attendence were Le Cordon Bleu Paris alumni, Gene Straub and Amelia Marneau (Bowinkel).

Le Cordon Bleu's office in the United States provides information, guidance and assistance designed to ensure U.S. citizens are fully prepared to begin their culinary journey at any of Le Cordon Bleu's international locations.
