Saint Andrews

Last 30th November, Le Cordon Bleu Paris students had the privilege of taking part in a reception celebrating Scotland's bank holidays, Saint Andrew's Day.

The event took place at the Residence of the Ambassador Dame Menna Rawlings on the occasion of the visit to France of Ms Mairi Gougeon, MSP, Scottish Minister for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands.  Almost 350 guests were present to celebrate the wealth of Scottish island flavours in opulent surroundings.

Le Cordon Bleu Paris students were on hand to assist Embassy Chefs Thierry Gremy and Cedric Magri. A 100% "Scottish Islands" menu to celebrate the culinary diversity of the Scottish islands.
Supervised by Chef Moine, eleven cuisine and pâtisserie students helped staff with presentation and service throughout the evening.

On the menu for ambassadors, diplomats and their guests were island treats such as Coquilles Saint Jacques (scallops), Hebridean day boat langoustines from Macduff shellfish, and ‘saumon fumé des Iles Harris et Lewis’ – smoked salmon from the Harris and Lewis Smokehouse.

This experience enabled students to put their knowledge into practice and to take part in a cultural event. Le Cordon Bleu Paris would like to thank the students, and the Chefs who supervised them, for their commitment, availability, and exemplary behaviour.
