Graduating in 2012 with a Grand Diplôme and highest honors, chef Darren Chin has since undertaken a myriad of successful culinary ventures. Most notably, Darren has opened a French gastronomic restaurant, DC Restaurant by Darren Chin, in Kuala Lumpur.
Meet Darren Chin
Darren Chin started working in the family restaurant 10 years ago. In 2011, he decided to register for the Grand Diplôme program at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, where his experience was a real success. While studying, he won the 9th edition of the Délifrance Sandwich World. He also had the opportunity to carry out on of his internships at the Pierre Sang Boyer Restaurant. He graduated in 2012 with the highest honors.
After finishing his studies, Darren returned to Malaysia, where he took over the family business with his brother. He became cuisine chef, specialized in development and innovation in sous vide cooking techniques for their network of four restaurants.
In April 2014, Darren will open a French gastronomic restaurant "DC Restaurant, by Darren Chin" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The menu will change every day, revolve around fresh seasonal ingredients from the market. “The culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu Paris helped me to develop my cooking style, combining innovation, balance, fresh products and culinary refinement” says Darren when we asked his opinion on Le Cordon Bleu.
Darren was also a jury member for the 10th edition of Délifrance Sandwich World Cup, which took place in Paris in February 2014.
